His career continued to grow when he was offered the opportunity to be a Manager in Training for a food concourse in Miami International Airport. After several years, Gus moved to Sanford, NC where he was able to use his love for the food and restaurant industry. Gus managed, cooked and catered out of W. B. Joyce’s Restaurant, opened Brick City Chop House and the bar, Next Door. Through the years, he was able to keep honing his skills while working at Fresh Choice Café and Renald’s before moving into larger restaurants in Southern Pines, NC: Tripps, Chilis and CharBar7.
